Top 6 in the 6ix: Can’t miss Toronto events July 2 to 8

Toronto, not only is it a brand new week but a brand new month.

Which is why we rounded up the top events happening throughout the city over the next seven days.

There’s something for everyone, so you’ll definitely have something to look forward to.

Brewer’s Backyard

What: Celebrate Canada Day on July 2 with Lester P. Beerson Day at the Evergreen Brick Works. On tap, look forward to delicious beers flowing from Great Lakes Brewery, Black Oak, St. Mary Axe, Collective Arts, Merit, Bench Brewing, Eastbound Brewing and West Avenue Cider, plus food from Delite Bite, FeasTO, Food Dudes, Fidel Gastro, Heirloom, and the Pop Stand.

When: July 2
Time:  11 am to 5 pm
Where: Evergreen Brick Works, 550 Bayview Avenue, Toronto
Price: Admission is free

David Blaine Live in Toronto

What: Magician David Blaine will be paying a visit to Toronto this week on his ‘David Blaine Live’ show. The American-born magician, who specializes in combining magic and stunts, has made a name for himself through television specials that seemingly defy all odds.

When: July 4 and 5
Time: 8 pm to 11 pm
Where: Sony Centre for the Performing Arts – 1 Front St. E, Toronto
Tickets: From $63

BurgerMania

What: Billed as a three-day food extravaganza, this food fest is devoted to the “greatest North American invention of all time, BURGERS.”

When: July 6
Time: Friday, noon to 11 pm; Saturday, 11 am to 11 pm; Sunday, 11 am to 9 pm
Where: Ontario Place, 955 Lake Shore Boulevard West, Toronto
Price: Tickets from $10

Friday Night Lights at Downsview Park

What: Taking place at the football field and running track at Downsview Park, moviegoers can enjoy a variety of recent family-friendly flicks all summer long.

When: July 6
Time: Roughly 9:30 pm
Where: 79 Carl Hall Road, Football Field & Running Track
Price: Free

Summerlicious

What: Now in its 16th year, Summerlicious is back for another exciting run. This month you can dine at a select group of 200 of Toronto’s finest restaurants during this summer food fest.

When: July 6 to July 22
Time: Varies by location
Where: Restaurants across Toronto
Price: Lunch menus priced at $23, $28, and $33 and dinner is $33, $43, and $53

Junction Night Market

What: Billed as a community food festival benefiting programs that promote access to local food, this event promises an abundance of food and brews all priced for $5 per serving.

When: July 7
Time: 7 pm to 11 pm
Where: Pacific Avenue, North of Dundas Street, Toronto
Price: $5 per serving
