Toronto will feel no relief from the heat following a blazing hot Canada Day long weekend. Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the City of Toronto forecasting that “extreme heat event will continue through Thursday,” as humidex values are expected to reach 43ºC.
The Canadian weather agency issues heat warnings “when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.”
While this morning might have felt slightly cooler, daytime highs in the low thirties will continue for a few more days and with the humidex Torontonians should expect it to feel more like “mid to high thirties today, and near low forties for Wednesday and Thursday.”
A cool down is finally expected by Friday as a cold front moves in.
