Canada Post ha emitido un nuevo sello para Diwali y tiene una función ‘brillante’ (FOTO)
Día de la Independencia se acerca rápidamente y correo de canadá presentó recientemente un nuevo sello en honor al festival que celebran hindúes, sijs, budistas, jainistas y otras comunidades de todo el mundo.
“También conocido como el Festival de las Luces, Diwali es una celebración de la luz sobre la oscuridad y del bien sobre el mal”, dijo correo de canadá del evento que este año arranca el 24 de octubre.
“Con una ilustración de Arthur Grivel, de la firma de diseño de Montreal Paprika, el diseño del sello destaca dos tradiciones que son fundamentales para la celebración de Diwali: los fuegos artificiales y la iluminación de diyas”, dijeron sobre la pieza festiva.
Además, incluyeron un elemento divertido que celebra la importancia de la luz en el festival.
“La tinta fluorescente aplicada a partes del sello intensifica su color y le da una apariencia brillante cuando se expone a la luz negra”, explicaron.

Otras formas en que se celebra Diwali son las reuniones de amigos y familiares “para intercambiar regalos y dar alimentos y bienes a los necesitados” y crear “coloridos patrones geométricos de Rangoli” que se muestran “en las entradas, salas de estar y patios usando arroz, pintura, arena o polvo de colores, o pétalos de flores”.
En 2017, 2020 y 2021, Canada Post también emitió sellos de Diwali y, a lo largo de los años, ha destacado otras festividades y eventos clave que tienen importancia para las personas en el país.
“La estampilla es solo una de varias emisiones anuales que celebran la diversidad cultural de Canadá al reconocer eventos de importancia para los canadienses. Otros incluyen Navidad, Hanukkah y Eid”.
