Pedestrian struck and killed on highway in Oakville

OAKVILLE, Ont.— A woman is dead after she was struck by a car on a highway in Oakville, Ont.

Police responded to a report on Friday around 8:50 p.m. of a pedestrian struck in the eastbound lane of the Queen Elizabeth Way.

Officers arrived and found a woman who was pronounced dead.

The vehicle involved in the collision left the scene.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on the driver, or anyone who believes they may have struck an object, to call police.
