Toronto’s 23rd annual St. Patrick’s Day parade takes over the city
Irish eyes are smiling with thousands of people taking in the festivities at Toronto’s 23rd annual St. Patrick’s Day parade.
The parade kicked off at noon with Mississauga mayor Hazel McCallion acting as Grand Marshal.
It began at Bloor and St. George Streets, then headed south down Yonge Street and finally west on Queen Street. The floats and bands wrapped up at Queen Street and University Avenue.
As always, there were a slew of pipe bands and representatives from all across Toronto’s vibrant Irish community.
Roughly a dozen marching bands and 20 floats made their way through the city, celebrating all things Irish.
